a little bit of poetry

Voices

lies abound
tossed like a boat in the sea
my heart aches  aloud

screaming softly
the voices tell me lies daily
i believe them sadly

screaming loudly...NO
the truth is living within me
today and forever

my heart aches
reaching for the truth within me
like a life preserver

footsteps

walking into elephant canyon
the  footsteps are easy to follow,
and then the winds come.
as if the ancient ones are here.
the wind blows the sand
and cover my foot steps,
my time here erased.

mortality

i lay awake, listening
the silence is deadening
after the girl's cry for help.
i can only look up to the stars
and say a prayer
for life.

sunshine

sunshine radiates
her smile warms my heart
my daughter

oranges, reds, yellows
the warmth of the sun touches
the depths of my soul

every day i thank God for you
my daughter
my light

alone

Lightening showers

Brightly light the darkness

Thundering within

Honesty is hard
Standing in the storm

Screaming alone
